I stubbed my toe quite often but it was worth it to feel the world beneath my feet. Maybe, if I had been allowed sneakers...

Aghhh!! Torn between laughter and sympathy! Still, as it happened in the past, I guess all is well now and your poor toe has fully recovered. Bet you still don't wear shoes tho'!
Yes,as Ronell writes, so vividly done, it hurts to look at it. But that's our destiny, Alison-- I still don't wear shoes until the arthritis and back scream at me. And as soon as I dare, I kick them off again. A love affair, it seems, that my toes have had with the ground for 75 years. annie
Ouch, I can really feel it. Hurt toes and hurt fingers are worse than gut-aches I think. I hate shoes and never wear them inside the house or our compound.(Fiji families take shoes off at the door anyway.) I have feet like the Beqa firewalkers I reckon. w.
Och!!! I can feel the wince. The painting is well done so much that you feel it. I hate shoes. Some times I like going out and just stepping in the snow in the winter with no shoes on. Only for a moment though.
Inspired by Neil Curtis in his book, 'The Memory Book', my memory paintings catch impressions and moments from my first ten years, in St Andrews, Scotland in the 60's. They are all 12 x 9 cm, mostly pen and watercolour, on Arches HP. They are now published in an 8" x 10" book through Blurb.

LOVE the little notes! Shoes, yes...
By the way, I was just thinking about you last night, nice to see a new post!
Oh yeah ... this was a HUGE part of my childhood!
Ouch! This brought back memories of childhood. Great sketch!
OUCH!
That said, I much prefer to go barefooted as well; at least when it isn't too cold to do so.

Ouch - that happened to me often too, and the accompanying comments. I still loath covering my feet with anything but air.
When I was little I'd always run smack into the doorway with my forehead and toe, so I feel your pain. And your drawing looks extremely painful too!
hehehehehehe.
very cool.
I remember them sort of toes..ha ha.I love the idea of the memory paintings.
