Continuing my 'pot studies' and mindful of this week's Illustration Friday theme, 'homage', I got out my monster vase - a wonderful $5 worth from the charity shop - and set a small white pot in front of it. Playing around with shadows again, I noticed the reflection of the small pot on the larger one - and indeed a reflection of the larger pot off the ground back on to itself. Difficult to render but worth a go. I couldn't resist using colour this time.

This study you are doing of reflections and shadows is incredible. This one I didn't see until I had read your comment but "color always pulls the eye". That same theroy is true in black and white photography; all kinds of compositional mistakes are forgiven when color is involved.
The last few entries of rendered pots have been GREAT!
Why do they put flowers on pots and plates? I really like plain plates to eat from, and also the glazes on porcelain and earthenware can be beautiful so I just think that the creators don't need all this decoration. I once did some pottery courses with a Chinese teacher and he taught us about super glazes.
