I really, really like this one and pot study 2!!! The shadows, the texture, the arresting composition---much more interesting than Morandi, to my eye. These have the same profoundly quirky and wonderfully oblique qualities of your memory paintings.

Love this composition and the different looks you've created with the pencil strokes.

You have been busy and such wonderful detail, your pots are such fun. Have a lovely time in Orange, catch up when I get back.

I'm absolutely nuts about your pot studies and have been thinking about them since I first saw them a week or so ago. I'm sorry I didn't leave a comment the first time. I'm having such a hard time getting myself to the computer. Meanwhile, I brought the blanket section and your address to work to mail them and things got so crazy that I didn't get a chance and then accidentally left them at work so couldn't do it this weekend either. Tomorrow I'm back at work and will get it in the mail!

Keep up the great work--it's very inspiring!

Your shadows are scary! I always appreciate the way you often cut off shapes like in some Japanese woodcuts. It works well here.

This one is very very dramatic. Fantastic.
